~ The Palace of Thundurus,

Kessian Octopoem
In the ancient days of the Kessi Empire, Kessian Emperors in the capital city would claim to answer to a higher power for their governance. This higher power was thought to be the Lord of the Skies, Thundurus, a being of immense power, riding upon clouds like chariots of war, a god not only among the sky but literally a part of it.
It was said Thundurus's grand palace stood at the highest point of Thunder Mesa, far to the north, where often storm clouds could be seen. This was often the cited reason for so little rain in the Lightning Wastes, as Thundurus was thought to keep the clouds to himself and released them as he saw necessary.
Thundurus's Palace, atop the Thunder Mesa, was said to be an infinitely complex structure, spanning sprawling twisting intersecting hallways and rooms infinitely, guarded by an army of the strongest Kessian Poke'mon welcomed to his palace for service after death, as well as a platoon of the last giants of the world brought to heel. Finally, Thundurus's palace was said to be rigged with traps from top to bottom to catch any trespassers unaware.
Although no ruins of any such palace are to be found at the top of Thunder Mesa, a series of hand-carved caves can be found that lead up to the peak of the largest open area of the Mesa. Researchers report feeling that this area radiates a powerful energy.
On the adventure for the first pearl of three, the Lightning Pearl, Team Azure and Team Spade were forced to trek to Thunder Mesa and come face-to-face with a legend.
