As the river continues through Shallow marsh it eventually resumes course then splits into multiple, splintering rivers. This land is constantly being replenished with fresh soil brought from the north, which has made it an ideal place for crops, as it has been for millions of years.
Even before the first civilizations began in Arcea it is believed that ancient nomdic Poke'mon tribes would pass through this delta and plant temporary roots to build farms and gather food that naturally grew in this fertile area..
However, when the first explorers of Arcea were reaching what would become the south border, the River Delta became a place of major significance for the fledgling village of Taeriana. It was here that Arcea was able to use food grown from the delta as gifts to bridge the gap between themselves and the Quayoffi Poke'mon they were making first contact with. Ever since then, the Delta has served as the backbone for Taeriana's food supply, and though many companies would be ravenous to get even a sliver of the Delta's Land for their own use, Taeriana maintains exclusive rights to the land and has appealed the exclusivity to Arceliaze courts numerous times when companies and nobles would encroach on the land.
But, the lands of Taeriana are still fairly remote and unkempt. Quayoffi trade and immigration go by water along the eastern shore, while south Arcea only really interacts with the religious monks of northern Quayoff.
This remoteness has also made Taeriana and its river delta the target of attacks and attempt at occupation by bandits and nere-do-wells, especially those escaping Quayoff. While the courts will begrudgingly maintain Taeriana's rights to the river delta from companies, it seems Taeriana falls behind in triage when it comes to fighting off criminals. The village has been forced to hire out private security but is unable to maintain consistent pay, all because the village is consistently ignored by the Arcean Conduicy.
Many monks of Taeriana wonder if their ignored pleas are a conspiracy to see them all destroyed, thus leaving the Delta up for grabs by any noble so inclined.
When Team Azure came to Taeriana looking for vouchers to Dovve Fo Uddjo, the village leader made a bargain: clear out the hooligans in our river delta and the vouchers are yours. Of course, things are never so easy for Avery and Vizon.
