The origins of Dovve' Fo Uddjo are shrouded in mystery. It possibly started life as a commune for psychic types looking to expand their powers through training far from the non-psychic civilizations, dubbed 'Yuani'.
In time, the commune grew and the collective power of the unrestricted psychics advanced as they made the space for comfortable for themselves. At the same time, however, they found their abilities heightened above normal but realized that was only true while they remained in the commune.
Thus came a long period of isolation.
Yuani eventually came to recognize itself as an independent city-state, using the power they'd gained to legitimize their stake. The Arcean Conduicy still has yet to officially recognize Yuani/Dovve Fo Uddjo sovereignty but still treats the city with equality due to the power of its leaders. In the years leading to the second war, Conduit Eunia briefly allowed Yuani to establish colleges across the country to further what was at the time called 'psychimancer exploints' to assist in state matters.
After the second war of Arcea, Yuani transformed itself to resemble the Quayoffi city of psychics: Umehswoh. Just like Umehswoh, Yuani would sport an isolating bubble that keeps outsiders from entering without a voucher. In recent decades, the city's name was changed to 'city of eyes' in Illaminian, 'Dove' Fo Uddjo', as a response to modern-day anti Illaminian rhetoric.
Today, the city stands as one of the wonders of the world and the absolute pinnacle of what can be achieved with psychic energy. It sports some of the greatest achievements in automated service and entertainment, attracting psychic types and Poke'mon from all over Tulaan. Its voucher system is much less stringent than Umehswoh in Quayoff, which has led to Dovve Fo Uddjo being the more popular and widely recognized city of psychics.
Tourism is common, and the city has become the preferred holiday spot of several noble families across Tulaan. The city sports a host of Arcean, Quayoffi and Illaminian restaurants, stores, malls and performers. There's also a famous amusement park which hosts the only psychi-coasters in existence, bringing high-speed fun for the whole family.
Much to the aggravation of governments across Tulaan, Dovve Fo Uddjo today refuses to share any secrets on how to perform these feats of psychic prowess, such as on-demand floating screens, citizen tracking, remote messaging, etc. For the time being, these wonders remain in Dovve Fo Uddjo alone.
Over time, as the city's role as a tourist hotspot became more prominent, there was pushback by the psychic community that Dovve Fo Uddjo was losing its role as a place to harness and hone their psychic abilities. For this reason, there are programs to give psychics a structured learning environment for practicing their skill.
But for some psychics, this still isn't enough. For those that crave the ultimate learning experience, Dovve Fo Uddjo also hosts the greatest Psychic University in all of Tulaan. But this university is one that only very few have ever seen.
Team Azure was tasked with coming to this city of luxury to find a psychic capable of finding Xamao. The city proved to be a place of fun...and a lot of drama.
