The Closely-Guarded Path of Pilgrims

For what little information can be gleamed from the fish Poke'mon of Squirtle lake, one thing is clear: the pilgrimage to Murky Tunnels is the ultimate journey for any water-dweller.

In order to enter the Murky Tunnels, however, one apparently must take a journey through the Damp Cave. The road to the Murky Tunnels is perilous, fraught with danger and, most of all, utter horror. Although no land-dwelling Poke'mon has been permitted entry into the Damp Cave, those water-dwelling Poke'mon that have been asked about the journey have assure that it is among one of the most harrowing challenges one can possibly take.

The entrance to the Damp Cave sits on the north end of the Squirtle Lake City. It's an enormous circular entrance guarded by no less than 50 soldiers. The only one that permits entry is an appointed 'Quest Giver' that administers the entrance trial to any Pilgrim looking to make the journey.

So far, no Land-Dwelling Poke'mon has been able to complete the trial. Thus, nobody truly knows what lies within the Damp Cave, nor the ultimate sacred goal of the Pilgrims: The Murky Tunnels.
