Beachside Cliff
Over 100 years ago, during the 5th Turn Economic boom, the Arcean north was a much more lively place, with cold water ports sporting a major port and transport hub with Illaminamo. The roads were cobblestone, buildings a stark marble, high walls and an enormous chateau upon the highest point of the cliff.
Now instead of cobblestone, one will only find overgrown dirt paths, the stone long ago taken to be used elsewhere. The white marble has chipped and dirtied. Weeds and wild grass make some trails unwalkable.
And there, at the top of Beachside Cliff, lies the abandoned city of Me'Saqi. All noble families, workers, businesses and the like cleared out in a hurry to avoid going bankrupt as Arcea's economy crashed and everyone converged into Arceliaze.
Few belongings were taken, and the villagers had found them difficult to sell off. Neither the Financial nor Architecture Guilds would take any of the properties as the prices went into freefall, leaving the property to be seized by the Conduicy.
The buildings there now remained untouched, slowly reclaimed by nature. Massive estates, mansions, warehouses, whatever couldn't be sold, lies silent and crumbling. The only sign of life anywhere near the Beachside cliff is a small Arcean Naval base at the bottom of the massive sheer cliff, acting as a companion base to the Mist Island base.
Because of its unsettling nature, the ruins of Me'Saqi have become a popular topic of ghost stories and 'monster sightings' from curious Arceans exploring the area to even the soldiers at the Beachside Cliff Base. Ultimately, it's not haunted, simply a testament to 5th turn villages, and their sheer money-draining opulence based mostly on vanity than actual practicality. That when the world cannot afford to be ostentatious anymore, villages like Me'Saqi become ruined and abandoned, no matter how much the inhabitants thought the good times would last forever.
